The late Edward Newgate, better known by his alias Whitebeard, was one of the Four Emperors and the only person to have ever matched the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, in a duel, making the Whitebeard Pirates one of the strongest pirate bands in history. Instead of being completely under the direct direction of their captain, Whitebeard’s crew was divided into sections. The pirate crew could act as a huge pirate fleet since it had numerous supporting crews operating in the New World.
In the Payback War, which ended with the Blackbeard Pirates mercilessly destroying them and annexing their old lands after Whitebeard and Ace were killed,the remaining crew members battled the Blackbeard Pirates’ full force in the Payback War, which resulted in a terrible Blackbeard Pirate victory against them, the conquest of their former lands, and the usurpation of Whitebeard’s place in the Four Emperors by the Blackbeard Pirates’ admiral. The crew disbanded after losing the majority of its clout and influence as a result.
Following the time jump, Edward Weevil and his mother Miss Buckin, who claim to be their captain’s biological son and lover and are out for his money, go after the other crew members and subordinate crews. However, Marco and Izou helped the Ninja-Pirate-Mink-Samurai Alliance launch a successful raid against a crew of the then-Emperor, which led to one of the alliance’s leaders becoming one of the Four Emperors.
