Smash Or Pass Vinland Saga

Vinland, as it is described in two Norse sagas, might come to mind while reading the title, Vinland Saga. However, the Vinland Saga opens in an England that is under Danish rule at the beginning of the 11th century and portrays the Danish conquerors of England, also known as Vikings. The tale centers on the historical explorer Thorfinn, the son of a killed ex-warrior who works for the mercenaries who carried out the atrocity, and dramatizes King Cnut the Great’s historical rise to power.

In 1013 AD, the young Thorfinn works for Askeladd in the hopes of challenging him to a fight and killing him in retaliation for their attack on him in 1002 AD while traveling to England, which resulted in the murder of his father. During the Danish invasion of London by the British in 1013 AD, Askeladd’s company was hired as mercenaries by Danish King Sweyn and Thorkell the Tall, Thorfinn’s combative uncle who served with Thors in the Jomsvikings. Askeladd’s business kidnaps Prince Canute after Thorkel kidnaps Sweyn’s son and plans to sell him to either side for profit.
